The project aims at developing a system which makes use of solar energy for rural electrification and also at railway stations, bus stations etc and to monitor the voltage that the load receives. The energy from solar is stored into a rechargeable battery. The stored energy is used for lights, fans automation control using sensors. Solar energy is treated as renewable source of energy.   The project makes use of a solar panel. The energy obtained from this source is stored to a battery. The battery supply is fed to load (fans and lights). The potential divider provides the dc voltage of the solar and battery which is fed to the microcontroller. The microcontroller will display the voltage values of solar and battery on the LCD. To achieve this task microcontroller loaded program written in Embedded C language.

Features of this project:
  1. Monitoring the voltage values on LCD display.
  2. Simple electronic circuit.
  3. Renewable energy sources are clean fuel source. (does not pollute environment).
  4. Converting DC to AC using Inverter.

The major building blocks of this project are:
  1. Solar panel.
  2. Charging circuit.
  3. Battery.
  4. Inverter.
  5. Load.
  6. Potential divider.
  7. Regulated power supply.
  8. PIC Microcontroller.
  9. LCD display.

Software’s used in the project:
  • PIC-C compiler for Embedded C programming.
  • PIC kit 2 programmer for dumping code into Micro controller.
  • Express SCH for Circuit design.
