This project presents the design and development of an Omni-Wheel Robot using an ESP32 microcontroller for both manual and automatic operation. The robot can be controlled wirelessly through Bluetooth voice commands and the Blynk mobile application, providing easy and flexible navigation.
The robot uses three omni wheels for smooth movement in all directions without changing its orientation. A servo-mounted ultrasonic sensor detects obstacles and automatically changes the robot's direction to avoid collisions. Dual L298 motor drivers are used to control the DC motors efficiently.
In manual mode, the robot can be controlled using voice commands or the Blynk app. In automatic mode, the ultrasonic sensor continuously detects obstacles; upon encountering an object, the robot intelligently avoids it by changing direction (typically turning left) and continues its movement. An MQ gas sensor continuously monitors the surrounding air for harmful gases. If gas is detected above the preset level, a buzzer is activated to alert nearby users. This combination of wireless control, obstacle avoidance, gas detection, and real-time alerts makes the robot suitable for industrial monitoring, warehouse inspection, and smart surveillance applications.
