The Automatic Left and Right Indicator for Bikes is an intelligent safety system designed to assist riders by automatically activating turn signals based on the bike’s motion and orientation. The system uses an ADXL345 MEMS accelerometer sensor to detect tilt and directional changes of the vehicle. These signals are processed by an Arduino Uno microcontroller, which determines whether the bike is turning left or right. Accordingly, it activates the respective LED indicators to alert surrounding vehicles. The system is powered by a 3.7V Li-ion battery, regulated and charged using a TP4056 charging module, ensuring portability and efficient power management. By eliminating the need for manual indicator operation, this project reduces rider distraction and enhances road safety, especially in critical situations such as sudden turns or falls. Additionally, the fall detection capability of the sensor can be further extended for emergency alert systems. Overall, this low-cost and compact solution improves rider convenience, minimizes human error, and contributes to safer riding conditions, making it highly suitable for modern smart transportation applications.

The Objectives of the project include:

  To design an automated indicator system that activates left and right turn signals without manual input.

  To use the ADXL345 MEMS accelerometer to accurately detect bike tilt, direction, and movement.

  To interface the sensor with an Arduino Uno microcontroller for real-time data processing and decision-making.

  To improve rider safety by reducing distraction and ensuring timely indication during turns.

  To develop a compact and energy-efficient system powered by a 3.7V Li-ion battery with TP4056 charging support.

  To implement reliable LED indication for both left and right directions.

  To incorporate fall detection capability for future safety enhancements.

  To create a low-cost, easy-to-install solution suitable for all types of two-wheelers.
