HVS-5024. RADAR Surveillance using Multi-Sensor Fusion using Raspberry pi and Pi camera.

15,000.00

This project presents a RADAR-based surveillance system using multi-sensor fusion implemented with a Raspberry Pi 4 and Pi Camera for intelligent real-time monitoring.

This project presents a RADAR-based surveillance system using multi-sensor fusion implemented with a Raspberry Pi 4 and Pi Camera for intelligent real-time monitoring. In this system, an ultrasonic sensor (HC-SR04) and Pi Camera are mounted on a servo motor to perform 360-degree scanning, creating a RADAR-like detection mechanism. A PIR sensor is used to detect human motion within the monitored area.

The system operates with a priority-based alert mechanism. When only the PIR sensor detects motion, a single alert is generated indicating basic activity detection. When both the ultrasonic sensor (HC-SR04) and PIR sensor detect an object simultaneously, the system generates a dual alert classified as a critical warning, ensuring higher accuracy and reduced false alarms.

Upon detection, the Raspberry Pi processes the sensor data and sends an email notification to the user. The alert message includes important parameters such as the detected object’s angle, distance from the sensor, and timestamp (date and time), along with an image captured using the Pi Camera. Additionally, live video streaming is provided through a web interface, and a buzzer is activated for local alert indication.

This system provides an efficient, low-cost, and intelligent surveillance solution suitable for home security, industrial monitoring, and restricted area protection, with enhanced reliability through multi-sensor data fusion.

The main objectives of this project are:

  To design and develop a smart surveillance system using Raspberry Pi 4 with multi-sensor integration.

  To implement a RADAR-like scanning mechanism by mounting an HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor and Pi Camera on a servo motor.

  To detect human presence using a PIR sensor and monitor object distance using the ultrasonic sensor.

  To develop a multi-sensor fusion technique that improves detection accuracy and reduces false alarms.

  To implement a dual-level alert system:

  • Single alert when only PIR detects motion
  • Critical (dual) alert when both PIR and ultrasonic sensor detect an object

  To capture real-time images using the Pi Camera upon detection.

  To send email notifications containing angle, distance, date, time, and captured image to the user.

  To provide live video streaming through a web interface for remote monitoring.

  To activate a buzzer for immediate local alert during detection.

  To create a low-cost, efficient, and reliable surveillance system for security applications.
