This project presents the design and implementation of an IoT-based Surveillance Robot with Live Human Being and Metal Detection, capable of real-time video monitoring and remote control through a web interface. The system is designed to enhance security and reduce human involvement in dangerous and restricted environments. An ESP32-CAM module is used to capture and stream live video over the internet, allowing the user to control the robot’s movement from a web browser while simultaneously viewing the live video feed.
A PIC microcontroller acts as the main control unit, interfacing with a PIR sensor for human detection and a metal detector sensor for identifying metallic objects such as weapons or mines. When human presence or metal is detected, the system activates LED indicators and a buzzer to provide immediate alerts. Robot navigation is achieved using DC motors controlled through a motor driver, powered by a regulated DC supply and battery.
The proposed system offers a low-cost, reliable, and remotely accessible surveillance solution with integrated sensing and real-time control, making it highly suitable for applications such as military surveillance, border security, industrial inspection, and disaster response operations.
Objectives of the project:
video:
ï‚· To design and develop an IoT-based surveillance robot capable of live video streaming using ESP32-CAM for real-time monitoring.
ï‚· To enable web-based remote control of the robot while viewing live video, ensuring effective navigation and surveillance.
ï‚· To detect human presence using a PIR sensor and generate instant alerts for security purposes.
ï‚· To identify metallic objects using a metal detector sensor and provide visual and audible warnings.
ï‚· To create a low-cost, reliable, and safe surveillance system suitable for military, border security, industrial, and disaster management applications.
