This project introduces a Smart Residential Electricity Management and Cutoff System using a network-based embedded control approach. The system utilizes a PIC microcontroller to monitor and manage electricity consumption in homes. It tracks energy usage through an energy meter, which continuously measures the power drawn by appliances. A relay is integrated to control the load and automatically disconnect high- energy consuming devices when needed, optimizing power usage. For remote monitoring and control, the system employs the ESP8266 Wi-Fi module, enabling connection to the cloud via ThingSpeak for real-time data analysis and visualization. An LCD display provides local feedback on energy consumption and system status. This system ensures efficient energy management, combining local control with remote access, which aids in energy conservation and reducing electricity wastage. The design is cost-effective and scalable, making it ideal for residential energy monitoring and management.
Objective:
The objective of this project is to design an automated system for managing residential electricity consumption. It aims to prevent overloading by automatically disconnecting power when usage exceeds preset limits. The system integrates an embedded controller for power control and utilizes ThingSpeak for real-time monitoring and remote management. The project seeks to reduce manual intervention, enhance reliability, and lower operational costs for electricity providers while offering a flexible and customizable solution for residential users.
