The Solar-Powered Automatic Grass Cutter with Obstacle Detection is an intelligent and eco-friendly robotic system designed to cut grass automatically without human intervention. The system operates using a rechargeable 12V battery powered by a solar panel, eliminating the need for external charging and reducing dependence on conventional energy sources. This makes the system energy-efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly.
A PIC microcontroller is used as the main control unit to manage the movement of the vehicle and the operation of the grass-cutting motor. An ultrasonic sensor continuously scans the surrounding area to detect obstacles such as humans, animals, or objects. Under normal conditions, the robot moves forward while cutting grass. When an obstacle is detected, the microcontroller immediately stops the cutting motor and changes the vehicle's direction to avoid collision. Once a clear path is found, the robot resumes its grass-cutting operation automatically.
The proposed system provides a safe, autonomous, and efficient solution for lawn maintenance in gardens, parks, playgrounds, and agricultural fields. By combining solar energy, automated navigation, and obstacle avoidance, the system reduces manual labor, enhances safety, and promotes the use of renewable energy in outdoor applications.
