The Fall Detection and Airbag Protection System for Elderly People is an intelligent safety system designed to reduce injuries caused by accidental falls. Falls are one of the major health risks faced by elderly individuals, often leading to serious physical injuries and medical complications. This project uses a NodeMCU microcontroller and an MPU6050 gyroscope sensor to continuously monitor the body orientation, tilt angle, and sudden movements of a person. The MPU6050 sensor can accurately detect abnormal body posture and fall conditions by measuring angular velocity and orientation changes in real time. When a fall is detected, the NodeMCU immediately activates a relay circuit connected to a CO2 cartridge-based airbag mechanism. The compressed CO2 rapidly inflates the protective airbag, helping to reduce the impact of the fall and improving the safety of the person. An LED indicator is also provided to show the system status and fall detection alerts. The entire system is powered by a battery supply, making it portable and suitable for wearable applications. This project provides a smart, compact, and effective fall protection solution for elderly and physically vulnerable individuals, helping to improve personal safety and emergency protection.
