HVS-4670. RainSense Cloth Dryer and SoilSmart Irrigation System

6,500.00

This project proposes an automatic rain detection and irrigation control system using an Arduino UNO to assist in daily household and agricultural applications.

This project proposes an automatic rain detection and irrigation control system using an Arduino UNO to assist in daily household and agricultural applications. The system integrates a rain sensor and a soil moisture sensor to perform two independent but useful tasks: automatic clothes protection during rainfall and efficient irrigation control for farming. The rain sensor detects the presence of rain and sends a signal to the Arduino, which activates a servo motor to automatically cover or move clothes to a safe position, preventing them from getting wet. Simultaneously, the soil moisture sensor continuously monitors the moisture level of the soil. When the soil is dry, the Arduino switches ON the irrigation water pump through a relay module. Once the soil reaches the required moisture level or rainfall is detected, the motor is automatically switched OFF to avoid overwatering. This system reduces manual effort, prevents water wastage, and protects clothes from unexpected rainfall. It is cost-effective, energy-efficient, and suitable for smart homes and smart agriculture applications.

Objectives:
  • To design and develop an automatic rain detection system for protecting clothes from unexpected rainfall.
  • To use a rain sensor to detect rain and control a servo motor for automatic clothes covering or movement.
  • To monitor soil moisture levels using a soil moisture sensor for efficient irrigation control.
  • To automatically switch ON/OFF the irrigation water motor based on soil moisture conditions using a relay.
  • To reduce manual effort in clothes management and farming irrigation.
  • To prevent water wastage and over-irrigation in agricultural fields.
  • To implement a low-cost, reliable, and energy-efficient system using Arduino UNO.
  • To promote smart home and smart agriculture automation.
