The Air Bag System for Two-Wheeler is an innovative safety mechanism designed to reduce rider injuries during accidents. Unlike conventional safety systems used in cars, this project focuses on protecting two-wheeler riders by detecting sudden impacts or abnormal vehicle tilts and deploying an airbag instantly. The system utilizes an Arduino UNO microcontroller as the main control unit, interfaced with an ADXL335 accelerometer sensor to monitor acceleration and tilt conditions continuously. When the sensor detects a crash-like situation exceeding predefined threshold values, the Arduino activates a MOSFET driver circuit, which in turn triggers the airbag motor/inflator mechanism. Simultaneously, a buzzer is activated to provide an audible alert. The power supply section includes a step-down transformer and voltage regulation circuitry to ensure stable operation of all components. This system offers a low-cost and compact solution for enhancing rider safety in motorcycles and scooters. By providing rapid airbag deployment during collisions, the project aims to minimize head, chest, and upper-body injuries, thereby improving the chances of survival and reducing the severity of accidents. The proposed design demonstrates the potential of embedded systems and sensor-based technologies in developing advanced safety features for two-wheelers.
