The Bi-Directional Rotation of AC Induction Motor Using RF Remote with Temperature and Overload Protection is designed to control the clockwise and anticlockwise rotation of an AC induction motor wirelessly while ensuring safe and reliable operation. The proposed system uses an Arduino UNO microcontroller as the main controlling unit. An RF transmitter and receiver module are used to provide wireless control of the motor direction. Push buttons are also provided for manual operation, allowing the user to select the required direction of rotation.
A current sensor and DS18B20 temperature sensor are interfaced with the Arduino UNO to continuously monitor the motor's current consumption and temperature. A potentiometer is used to set the required current limit. Based on the received RF commands, the microcontroller controls the relays to change the motor's direction of rotation. A capacitor is connected to provide the required phase shift for motor starting and operation. The motor temperature and current values are continuously displayed on an LCD.
If the motor temperature exceeds the predefined safe limit or the current exceeds the permitted overload limit, the Arduino automatically switches OFF the motor and activates a buzzer to alert the user. The complete system is programmed using Embedded C language. Thus, this project provides a wireless motor control system with bidirectional rotation and automatic temperature and overload protection, improving motor safety, convenience, and operational reliability.
The main objectives of the project are:
