The project titled “Electromagnetic Coil-Based Gun” proposes an electromagnetic propulsion system designed to launch a projectile without using gunpowder. The system demonstrates the principle of electromagnetic force, in which magnetic fields generated by energized coils produce a force on a suitable ferromagnetic object. The proposed system consists of copper electromagnetic coils, electronic control circuitry, capacitors, a supporting frame, a pipe, and an Arduino UNO microcontroller. A three-stage coil arrangement is considered to demonstrate the sequential operation of electromagnetic coils. The coils are arranged along a common axis, and their operation is controlled electronically to illustrate how electromagnetic fields can influence the movement of a ferromagnetic object. The Arduino UNO serves as the main control unit and interfaces with the input button and electronic switching circuitry. When the user presses the button, the controller initiates the programmed sequence, demonstrating coordinated coil activation. Capacitors and electronic components support the operation of the electromagnetic circuit, while the frame provides mechanical support for the assembly. This project demonstrates the application of electromagnetism, microcontroller-based control, and electronic switching in projectile propulsion. It provides an educational platform for understanding electromagnetic principles and their applications in modern engineering. For safe implementation, the system should be designed as a low-energy laboratory demonstrator using a non-projectile load rather than a device intended to launch bullets at high speeds.
