This project presents the design and implementation of a rain-operated manhole system tailored for smart cities. The proposed system integrates various sensors including rain, water flow, tilt, MQ2 gas, and temperature sensors along with GSM communication, LCD display, and a buzzer. The rain sensor detects precipitation, triggering the opening of the manhole cover to prevent flooding during heavy rainfall. Water flow and tilt sensors ensure efficient drainage and detect any anomalies in the manhole’s position.
