The Medicine Delivery Robot is an Arduino-based smart robotic system designed to automatically deliver medicines to bed patients in hospitals. The robot uses four IR sensors for line following, which help the robot detect and follow a predefined path from the medicine station to the selected patient’s bed. A Blynk mobile application is used by the nurse or hospital staff to select the required bed destination through Wi-Fi. The Arduino processes the sensor inputs and controls the DC motors through a motor driver to guide the robot along the designated path. At the patient’s bed, the robot stops and uses three IR sensors for medicine detection to monitor whether the medicine has been taken from the delivery section. A voice module repeatedly announces “Please take the medicine” until the medicine is detected as taken. The proposed system provides a simple, efficient, and automated solution for medicine delivery to bed patients while reducing the need for repeated manual medicine transportation by hospital staff.        

Objectives of the project:

  To design and develop an Arduino-based automatic medicine delivery robot for hospital bed patients.

  To implement four IR sensors for accurate line following and navigation along the predefined path.

  To use a Blynk mobile application to select the required patient bed and control the robot through Wi-Fi.

  To use three IR sensors to detect whether the medicine has been taken by the patient.

  To provide a voice alert saying “Please take the medicine” until the medicine is detected as taken.          

The major building blocks of the project are:  
  • Battery power supply.
  • ARDUINO Microcontroller.
  • Seven IR sensors.
  • DC motors with L293d driver
  • APR33A3 Voice module with speaker.
  • ESP8266 WI-FI module.
  • Blynk APP.

  • Embedded C programming.
  • Arduino IDE programmer for dumping code into Micro controller.
  • Express SCH for Circuit design.
  • IOT technology.
