The project “A Novel Control Strategy for a Variable Speed Wind Turbine Using Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator” is designed to generate electrical energy efficiently from wind energy by operating the wind turbine at variable speeds. The wind turbine drives a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG), which converts the mechanical energy of the rotating turbine into electrical energy. The generated power is regulated using a charging circuit and stored in a rechargeable battery. The stored energy can be supplied directly to DC loads through switches or converted into AC power using an inverter to operate AC loads. The proposed control strategy helps improve the utilization of available wind energy under varying wind-speed conditions, while maintaining stable power generation and efficient battery charging. This system provides a simple and reliable renewable energy solution for supplying both AC and DC electrical loads.        

Objectives:  
  1. To develop a variable-speed wind energy conversion system using a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG).
  2. To efficiently convert wind energy into electrical energy under varying wind-speed conditions.
  3. To design a suitable charging circuit for storing the generated energy in a rechargeable battery.
  4. To provide a stable power supply for both DC and AC loads.
  5. To improve the overall efficiency and utilization of available wind energy.
  6. To reduce dependence on conventional energy sources by using renewable wind energy.
