The project aims in designing a solar power-based water quality monitoring system using IOT which upload the parameters values into the thingspeak cloud through WI-FI. ThingSpeak is an open-source Internet of Things (IoT) application and API to store and retrieve data from things using the HTTP protocol over the Internet or via a Local Area Network. This IoT device could measure the water quality using sensors such as PH, turbidity, conductivity. It continuously monitors the data from sensor and updates them to an IoT platform by using solar energy. Solar energy is stored into the battery through charging circuit. This battery power fed to the arduino to run the project. The controlling device of the whole system is an arduino microcontroller. To performs this task, arduino is programmed using embedded C language and Software is Arduino IDE.         The main objectives of the project are:
  1. Monitoring water quality parameters into the thingspeak cloud.
  2. Usage of IOT technology.
  3. Using solar energy.
  4. Using Arduino to achieve this task.
The major building blocks of the project are:
  1. Solar panel.
  2. Charging circuit.
  3. Rechargeable battery.
  4. ARDUINO.
  5. ESP8266 Wi-Fi module.
  6. PH sensor.
  7. Turbidity sensor.
  8. Conductivity sensor.
  9. LCD display.
  10. Thingspeak .
  11. LED indicator.
            Software’s used:
  • Embedded C programming.
  • Arduino IDE programmer for dumping code into Micro controller.
  • Express SCH for Circuit design.
