The main aim of the project is to control the stepper motor using PC. Stepper motor can move either clockwise or anticlockwise through the set of commands given from the hyper terminal of PC.   Stepper motors are mainly used in Robotics to control the directions of Robot. This project describes a new economical solution of robot control systems. The presented robot control system can be used for different sophisticated applications.   The main controlling device of the whole system is a microcontroller. USBTTL and stepper motor are interfaced to Microcontroller. The commands given from PC hyper terminal software will be sent to the microcontroller using serial communication through a  HyperTerminal software from PC used TTL logics and vice versa. The Microcontroller process the data received from PC and acts accordingly on the stepper motor. To perform the task, Microcontroller is loaded with an intelligent program written in embedded ‘C’ language.

Features:
  1. Stepper motor can be easily controlled.
  2. Ease in understanding the working module.
  3. Easy to operate through PC.
  4. Low power consumption.

The main building blocks of the project are:
  1. Regulated Power Supply.
  2. PIC Microcontroller.
  3. USBTTL.
  4. Crystal
  5. PC with HyperTerminal software.
  6. Stepper motor with driver.
  7. Reset Button.
  8. LED indicators.

Software’s used:
  1. PIC-C compiler for Embedded C programming.
  2. PIC kit 2 programmer for dumping code into Micro controller.
  3. Express SCH for Circuit design.
