Recognizing the need of security we developed an automated security access system with user friendly access.   The purpose of this project is to alert when the door is opened or closed using magnetic door sensors and automatically sends alerting message to GSM network using GSM Modem/phone. If any unauthorized person opens the door then the system will send alerting appropriate message to owner’s mobile phone. The system also alerts through alarm and displays the status of the door being operated either open or close on LCD display unit.   This system also can automatically send the alerting message to the predefined authorities number in the form of SMS. This system can be designed to send SMS alerts whenever the door is opened or closed using door sensor. The door sensor alerts when anyone enters into the monitoring room using SMS.   This project makes use of an onboard computer which is commonly termed as microcontroller. This onboard computer can efficiently communicate with the different sensors being used. The controller is provided with some internal memory to hold the code. This memory is used to dump some set of assembly instructions into the controller. And the functioning of the controller is dependent on these assembly instructions. The controller is programmed using Embedded C language.        

The objectives of the project include:  
  1. Automatic Sensing of door operation using sensors.
  2. Real time authentication system through GSM
  3. Displaying the door status (close/open)
  4. Producing buzzer alerts (if necessary).
  The project provides us exposure on:  
  1. Initialization of ADC module of microcontroller.
  2. Interfacing GSM modem to microcontroller.
  3. Embedded C programming.
  4. PCB designing.
  5. Magnetic door sensors.
  6. LCD interfacing.
  The major building blocks of this project are:    
  1. Regulated Power Supply.
  2. Microcontroller
  3. LCD display with driver.
  4. GSM Modem.
  5. Door sensor.
  6. Buzzer with driver.
  7. Crystal oscillator
  8. LED indicators.
        Software’s used:  
  1. PIC-C compiler for Embedded C programming.
  2. PIC kit 2 programmer for dumping code into Micro controller.
  3. Express SCH for Circuit design.
