The main aim of this project is to design an automated system which is used to announce the name of the bus at the bus stops with the help of RFID technology. The system also displays the bus name on the LCD screen.   Automation is the most frequently spelled term in the field of electronics. The hunger for automation brought many revolutions in the existing technologies. One among the technologies which had greater developments is RF communications. The result of this is the RFID cards which transmit a unique identification number. This number transmitted by the RFID can be read with the help of a RF reader.   The system consists of RFID reader, microcontroller, LCD, voice module. The RFID reader detects the RFID tag which is placed to the bus and this input is fed to the microcontroller. The Microcontroller announces the predefined bus names through voice module, according to the tag number it receives from RF reader. Also, along with the announcement, Microcontroller displays the bus name on the LCD. To perform this task, Microcontroller is loaded with an intelligent program written in embedded ‘C’ language.   This system helps the illiterates to easily identify the bus they should board to reach their destination.

1. PIC-C compiler for Embedded C programming.
2. PIC kit 2 programmer for dumping code into Micro controller.
3. Express SCH for Circuit design.
