The project aims at designing a wireless remote-control heavy-duty Robot. The system makes use of PIC microcontroller for achieving the task. The wireless technology employed is Bluetooth. Bluetooth is a wireless technology standard for exchanging data over short distances (using short-wavelength UHF radio waves in the ISM band from 2.4 to 2.485 GHz) from fixed and mobile devices, and building personal area networks (PANs). Invented by telecom vendor Ericsson in 1994, it was originally conceived as a wireless alternative to RS-232 data cables The controlling device of the whole system is done using PIC Microcontroller. The robot can be controlled through our mobile phone over Bluetooth communication. The Bluetooth receiver module in our system gets the input from our mobile phone and gives the same input to the microcontroller. The microcontroller accordingly controls the robot. The PIC Microcontroller used in the project is programmed using Embedded C language.

The main objectives of this project are:
  1. Design of real time robot.
  2. Wireless control of robot directions.
  3. Using Bluetooth technology.
  4. Using android mobile application to control the Robot.
The major building blocks of this project are:
  • Battery power supply.
  • PIC Microcontroller.
  • Reset Button
  • Crystal Oscillator
  • Bluetooth module
  • DC motors with driver.
  • LED indicators.
  Software’s used:
  1. PIC C Compiler software for Embedded C programming.
  2. PIC KIT 2 Programmer for dumping code into Micro controller.
  3. Express SCH for Circuit design.
