										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Bed and Patient Monitoring System is an Arduino UNO–based healthcare solution designed to continuously monitor patient presence, emergency conditions, and vital parameters across multiple hospital beds. The system supports monitoring of up to ten beds using infrared (IR) sensors to detect patient occupancy. Each bed is equipped with an LED indicator that visually represents whether the bed is occupied or vacant, enabling quick assessment by medical staff.</p>
<p>For emergency situations, individual switches are provided for each bed. When a patient presses the emergency switch, the system immediately identifies the specific bed number and displays it on a 20×4 LCD screen. Simultaneously, the patient’s heart rate and blood oxygen saturation (SpO₂) are measured using the MAX30102 sensor and displayed in real time.</p>
<p>Additionally, the system incorporates a fall detection sensor to enhance patient safety. If any abnormal condition is detected—such as irregular heart rate, abnormal SpO₂ levels, or a fall—the system activates a buzzer to alert healthcare personnel instantly. The LCD also displays the status of all beds, indicating occupied and empty beds for effective bed management.</p>
<p>Powered by a battery supply, this system offers a reliable, low-cost, and efficient solution for real-time patient monitoring, emergency alerting, and bed status management in hospitals and healthcare facilities.</p>

<p><strong>Objectives:</strong></p>
<p>   To design and implement a multi-bed patient monitoring system capable of detecting patient presence on up to ten hospital beds using IR sensors.</p>
<p>   To provide real-time visual indication of bed occupancy status through LEDs and display the status of occupied and vacant beds on an LCD screen.</p>
<p>   To develop an emergency alert mechanism using individual switches for each bed that identifies and displays the corresponding bed number during emergencies.</p>
<p>   To continuously monitor patient vital parameters, including heart rate and blood oxygen saturation (SpO₂), using the MAX30102 sensor and display the data in real time.</p>
<p>   To enhance patient safety by detecting abnormal conditions and fall events, and activating an audible buzzer alert to immediately notify healthcare personnel.</p>
