The project aims in designing a system which is capable of switching ON/OFF the electrical devices based on the speech (command). This system creates a new era in the automation system. This system integrates human-machine interface. This project consists of ZIGBEE based remote control system that transmits the wireless signals according to the input being selected based on speech commands given by the user through Speech recognition module.
This project presents an intelligent voice-controlled home automation and alert system based on Artificial Intelligence using a Raspberry Pi platform. The system integrates a microphone for voice acquisition and applies voice recognition algorithms to detect and interpret user commands. The recognized voice commands are processed by the Raspberry Pi to perform two primary functions: generating voice responses through a speaker, such as announcing medicine reminders or speaking the current time, and transmitting control signals to remote appliances using a ZigBee wireless communication module. A GSM module is incorporated to send SMS notifications to a registered mobile phone for important alerts and status updates, thus enabling remote monitoring and assistance.
The receiver section employs a PIC microcontroller interfaced with a ZigBee receiver, which controls home appliances through relays and provides status indication using an LED. This system offers a reliable solution for elderly or physically challenged individuals by enabling hands-free operation and immediate communication. The proposed architecture ensures low-cost implementation, wireless connectivity, and improved user convenience and safety. Overall, the project demonstrates an efficient AI-based voice interaction system combined with IoT-enabled home automation and real-time communication capabilities.
