The project aims in designing a car battery monitoring system. Vehicle battery automation system gives us the current battery status and also alerts us whenever the battery discharges a particular level, it helps us to get the pre-hand information about the charging status of the battery so that we will be concisions rather than facing problems in between the journeys after the battery is completely discharged. It is found to be more helpful especially during the time of long journeys. The intelligent device which performs the task is a Microcontroller. The battery voltage sensor, buzzer alarm and charge indicating LED’s are interfaced to Microcontroller. The microcontroller continuously monitors the voltage of the battery through voltage sensor. If the voltage falls below a predefined level, it automatically horns a buzzer and also continuously monitoring the Battery voltage on LCD display. The battery voltage status can be seen through LED indicators. To perform this task microcontroller is loaded with an intelligent program written using embedded ‘C’ language.

The objectives of the project include:
  1. Continuous track on battery voltage.
  2. Alerting regarding low battery voltage.
  3. Battery voltage is monitoring on LCD display.
  4. Visual based indication system through LED’s.
The major building blocks of this project are:
  1. Regulated Power Supply.
  2. Micro Controller.
  3. Battery.
  4. Buzzer with driver.
  5. Voltage sensor.
  6. LCD display.
  7. Reset.
  8. Crystal oscillator.
  9. LED indicators.
Software’s used:
  1. PIC-C compiler for Embedded C programming.
  2. PIC kit 2 programmer for dumping code into Microcontroller.
  3. Express SCH for Circuit design.
