      Flood is an unavoidable natural disaster in all over the world, causing heavy flow of water and also severe damage to properties and lives. For this reason, we need to create a flood detection system to monitor rising water residential areas. This can be achieved through the emerging technologies GAM we can get early information in abnormal conditions and take necessary action like open the dam gates automatically.
Generally, flooding cannot be stopped and unavoidable, but early detection or warning system can be used to reduce losses faced by the citizen and government. For this reason, we need to create flood level sensing devices which will detect the water level in dam.
The project makes a use of raspberry pi pico module main controlling device of the whole project. By using ultrasonic sensors, we can measure the distance of surface water. By using moisture level sensor, we can measure the maximum level of water. To measure the water flow using flow sensor. GSM technology is used for sending alert intimation to the respective authorities. Audible alerts using buzzer. The status of the project is display on LCD.
This system is integrated to the Raspberry pi pico board. Moisture Level Sensor, SR04 Ultrasonic Sensor, Water Flow Sensor, Buzzer, GSM and LCD module is interfaced to the Raspberry pi pico module. Raspberry pi continuously monitor the data from sensors. If the sensor data cross threshold value, automatically this system sends the alert SMS to the predefine mobile number through GSM and also activate the buzzer for alerts as well as monitor the sensor data on LCD display. This system can also predict the possibility of flooding before flooding takes place.

The main objective of this project is to detect the rising water level in a river/ lake from a reasonable distance and intimate that to the respective authorities through GSM in abnormal conditions of moisture level, water flow and water level.
