This project implements an Arduino UNO-based microgrid Decentralized Distributed Generation (DDG) monitoring system that leverages LoRa (Long Range) and ESP8266 Wi-Fi technologies to wirelessly track and transmit vital solar, battery, load, and weather metrics to the ThingSpeak cloud. The primary controller, an Arduino UNO, measures voltage and current across the solar PV system, battery bank, and DC loads to calculate total solar energy generation and consumption metrics while simultaneously using temperature and humidity data to assess solar generation efficiency. These critical parameters are communicated long-range via LoRa technology (originally developed by Cycleo and acquired by Semtech) to a user section powered by a Raspberry Pi Zero, which utilizes an ESP8266 Wi-Fi module to seamlessly upload the real-time data to ThingSpeak for remote, inexpensive monitoring ideal for rural or remote industries.

The major features of this project are:
  • Solar PV based microgrid monitoring system.
  •  LoRa based wireless data transmission.
  • IOT based cloud data storage system.
  • Using of Arduino controller to achieve this task.
  • Using thing speak technology to upload the data into the cloud along with date and time.
