Wind energy is one of the most promising renewable energy resources for producing electricity due to its cost competitiveness compared to other conventional types of energy resources. It takes a particular place to be the most suitable renewable energy resources for electricity production. It isn't harmful to the environment and it is an abundant resource available in nature. Hence, wind power could be utilized by mechanically converting it to electrical power using wind turbine. The main aim of the project is to design a wind energy system with pitch angle control which is used to ON the AC load. The proposed system makes use of, frictionless bearing mechanism, wind turbine, permanent magnet synchronous generator, charging circuit battery, step up transformer, Arduino and load. With the help of frictionless bearing mechanism, the wind turbine rotates towards the wind. In this project wind energy is stored into the battery with the help of charging circuit. By using inverter, we can switch on the AC loads. Inverter developed by Arduino, H-bridge and step up transformer circuit.          

The objectives of the project include:
  • This system employs permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) which overcomes the drawback of doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) that requires a lot of maintenance.
  • With the variation in the pitch angleof the wind blade, the source power is highly extracted thereby increasing the efficiency of the system.

  • Arduino IDE for compiling and dumping code into Microcontroller
