HVS-1549. Hydraulic Sheet Metal Bending Machine.

10,500.00

The fabricated hydraulic press is suitable for operations such as press fitting, bending, straightening, compression testing, and material forming.

The main objective of this project is to design and fabricate a manual hydraulic press capable of generating high compressive force for various pressing and testing applications. The system is based on Pascal’s Law, which states that pressure applied to a confined fluid is transmitted equally in all directions. A hydraulic bottle jack is mounted within a rigid steel frame, and the force produced by the jack is used to move a pressing plate that applies pressure on the workpiece placed on the base platform. The hydraulic press consists of a strong steel frame, a hydraulic bottle jack, return springs, a movable pressing plate, and a fixed base plate. When the hydraulic jack is operated manually, hydraulic pressure is generated, causing the piston to move upward and apply a large compressive force on the workpiece. After the operation is completed, the return springs help restore the pressing plate to its original position. The fabricated hydraulic press is suitable for operations such as press fitting, bending, straightening, compression testing, and material forming. It provides a simple, low-cost, and efficient solution for mechanical workshops, educational laboratories, and small-scale manufacturing applications. The project demonstrates the practical application of hydraulic power transmission and mechanical design principles, offering a compact and reliable pressing mechanism with minimum manual effort.         Components Used:
  • Hydraulic Bottle Jack (5–10 Ton) – Generates the hydraulic pressure and lifting force.
  • Steel Frame (Mild Steel) – Provides structural support and withstands the pressing load.
  • Top Cross Beam – Holds the upper part of the frame and supports the return springs.
  • Movable Pressing Plate (Ram Plate) – Transfers the force from the jack to the workpiece.
  • Fixed Base Plate – Supports the workpiece during pressing operations.
  • Return Springs (2 Nos.) – Pull the pressing plate back to its original position after pressing.
  • Guide Rods / Side Supports – Maintain alignment of the pressing plate during movement.
  • Bolts, Nuts, and Washers – Used for assembly and fastening of components.
  • Welded Joints – Join the steel frame members securely.
  • Workpiece / Specimen Holder – Holds the material being pressed or tested.
