The project aims in designing a system which is capable of announcing and displaying the arriving bus information like its destination, its route path etc., in the bus station This system helps the passengers in the bus station to know easily the bus they need to board from the information provided in bus station. This system makes use of wireless technology RF to establish communication system in bus and the system in bus station.
RF Communication ranges in between 30 KHz to 300 GHz. RF communication works by creating electromagnetic waves at a source and being able to pick up those electromagnetic waves at a particular destination. These electromagnetic waves travel through the air at near the speed of light. The wavelength of an electromagnetic signal is inversely proportional to the frequency; the higher the frequency, the shorter the wavelength.
The controlling device of the whole system is a microcontroller. The bus system has a switch and RF transmitter with an encoder. The switch helps in showing the same system as many numbers of buses in the prototype. The Encoder along with RF transmitter is used to transmit unique data for each position of switch. The transmitted data is received at bus station by RF receiver and this is fed to Microcontroller. The microcontroller takes decision of announcing and displaying particular predefined information according to data it received. To achieve this task, the microcontroller is loaded with intelligent program written using embedded ‘C’ language.
