This project presents an Automatic Door Opening and Room Illumination Control System using IR and LDR sensors for smart and energy-efficient operation. The system is designed to automate door movement and control lighting intensity based on environmental conditions and human presence. An IR sensor is used to detect the presence of a person near the entrance. When a person is detected, the signal is sent to a PIC microcontroller, which controls a servo motor to automatically open the door. After a predefined time, the door closes automatically, ensuring convenience and security. An LDR (Light Dependent Resistor) is used to monitor ambient light intensity inside the room. Based on the surrounding light conditions, the microcontroller adjusts the brightness of high-power LEDs through a transistor driver circuit. If the room is dark, the lights turn ON or increase in intensity, and when sufficient light is available, the lights are dimmed or turned OFF, thus saving energy. The system also includes LED indicators to display operational status, along with a regulated power supply, crystal oscillator, and reset circuit for stable functioning. This project provides a smart, cost-effective solution for automation in homes, offices, and public spaces, enhancing comfort, security, and energy efficiency.
