The project aim is to design a smart energy meter using Wi-Fi module to monitor and control the KWH readings along with bill into the Blynk app using ESP32 controller. The main controlling device of the project is ESP32 Microcontroller. Energy meter, LCD display, energy meter and relay are interfaced to ESP32 Microcontroller. The microcontroller is programmed such that it sends the energy readings (KWH) and billing into the Blynk app through inbuilt Wi-Fi from ESP32 microcontroller. The system also controls the device using Blynk app from ESP32. The Microcontroller is loaded with intelligent program written using Embedded ‘C’ language. The modules in the project are: ESP32 controller with Wi-Fi connection for establishing communication between system at house and electricity department, Energy meter which continuously gives usage details, Blynk App to get current reading of meter, and LCD module used for displaying the monitored data. The system provides the energy meter monitored data and controlling data in the Blynk app using ESP32.    

Main features present in this project:
  • Monitoring of energy meter reading in KWH along with bill.
  • Using IOT technology to send the KWH readings into the blynk cloud along with date and time.
  • By using smart mobile; any one can access this data from anywhere in the world by using his credential.
  • ON/OFF controlling the devices using Blynk app
