The Smart Glove with Home Automation and Gesture-to-Speech Conversion is an innovative assistive system designed to help physically challenged, speech-impaired, and elderly people communicate and control home appliances easily using hand gestures.

The Smart Glove with Home Automation and Gesture-to-Speech Conversion is an innovative assistive system designed to help physically challenged, speech-impaired, and elderly people communicate and control home appliances easily using hand gestures. The system uses five flex sensors mounted on a glove to detect finger movements and hand gestures. A PIC microcontroller processes the gesture signals through an ADC and identifies predefined commands such as water, food, emergency help, bedsheet assistance, and other basic needs. Based on the detected gesture, the APR33A3 voice module announces the corresponding message through a speaker, enabling effective communication with caregivers and family members.   In addition to gesture-to-speech conversion, the system also provides home automation functionality using RF wireless technology. The recognized hand gestures are encoded and transmitted through an RF transmitter to the receiver section, where the signal is decoded to control electrical devices through relay drivers and relays. This allows users to switch household appliances ON or OFF without physical interaction. The system offers a low-cost, user-friendly, and efficient solution for smart assistance and home automation, improving independence, safety, and quality of life for disabled and elderly individuals.
