HVS-4680. Driver Drowsiness detection system with GPS and GSM with ignition control

8,500.00

The system is built around an Arduino UNO microcontroller, which acts as the central control unit. An eye blink sensor is used to continuously monitor the driver’s eye movements. If the system detects drowsiness over a specific duration, it identifies the driver as fatigued. In such a situation, a buzzer and a red LED are activated to alert the driver immediately.

Road accidents caused by driver drowsiness are a major concern worldwide, often leading to serious injuries and loss of life. This project presents a Driver Drowsiness Detection System with GPS and GSM and Ignition Control designed to enhance road safety by monitoring the driver’s alertness and taking automatic preventive actions. If the driver fails to respond, the system takes further action by controlling the vehicle ignition using a relay, which acts as a switch to turn OFF the DC motor, thereby stopping the vehicle safely. At the same time, the system uses a GPS module to obtain the real-time location of the vehicle and sends an alert SMS along with location details to a predefined mobile number through the GSM module. Additionally, the system status and alerts are displayed on an LCD module for real-time monitoring. This project provides an effective, low-cost, and automated solution to prevent accidents caused by driver fatigue, ensuring enhanced safety for drivers and passengers.

The main objectives of the project are:

  To detect driver drowsiness using an eye blink sensor.

  To alert the driver using a buzzer and LED when drowsiness is detected.

  To automatically stop the vehicle using a relay-based ignition control system.

  To track the vehicle location using a GPS module.

  To send an alert SMS with location to a predefined mobile number using GSM.

  To display system status on an LCD screen.

  To improve road safety by preventing accidents due to driver fatigue.
